No mystery maths. One valid ticket carries one equal chance. The numbers change with the entry pool, the number of tickets you hold and-on instant wins-the number of winning positions.

This illustration assumes one main-draw winner and a fixed number of instant-win tickets distributed without replacement.

The important parts
A paid entry and a valid free postal entry receive the same kind of ticket. Neither route is weighted or placed in a separate draw.
Before close, nobody knows the final number of eligible entries. The published maximum gives the longest possible odds; if the competition closes with fewer entries, each ticket’s final chance is better.
Winning ticket positions are distributed across the full pool before launch and committed so they cannot be moved after sales begin. As tickets are issued, those positions may be revealed.
Buying more entries raises probability, but random outcomes can never guarantee a prize. Set a budget, stay within it and only enter for entertainment.
If a main draw closes with 1,000 eligible entries and you hold 10, your chance is 10 in 1,000: 1%, or 1 in 100. Ten entries are ten separate equal chances-not a guarantee. If that competition has 10 instant-win tickets across the same 1,000-ticket pool, the chance that your 10 tickets contain at least one instant win is slightly under 10% because tickets are allocated without replacement.
